DENISE NELSON
Mrs. Nelson was born July 15,1955, in Huntington, WV, to Bill and Loretta Nelson. She has three brothers and one sister. Her brothers live out of state while her sister is a nurse in Charleston,WV. She graduated from Logan High School in 1973. She graduated from Southern WV Community College in 1975, graduated from Marshall University in 1977 and began her teaching career with Logan County Schools. She graduated from Marshall University with a masters degree in Elementary Education in 1987. She taught grades 4,5,6,7 and 8. She has taught classes at Southern WV Community and Technology College for a few years as well.
Ms. Nelson has been in Boone County Schools teaching at MMS since 2006. She has two wonderful children, Adam age 27 and Miranda age 23. Adam is a logger, and Miranda is attending school to be a hairdresser. Ms. Nelson is divorced after being married for 30 years. She attends Hillcrest Freewill Baptist Church and is active in their programs and functions. Ms. Nelson's daughter is planning a spring wedding! She has worked various places in addition to teaching such as Goody's, The Wallpaper Shoppe, and the Chief Logan State Conference Center. Her hobbies are reading and traveling as much as possible.
